Class Overview
The Engineer is the essential defensive class in Survive Zombie Arena. After the Marksman provides damage output, the Engineer provides the necessary structural integrity to survive the mid-game bottlenecking where zombie health scaling outpaces weapon damage.
Equipment & Abilities
| Equipment | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Steel Barricades | Rare | Significantly upgraded barricades with 5x the HP of wooden Survivor barricades. Essential for holding chokepoints against large swarms. |
| Flame Turret | Epic | Outputs a continuous, persistent cone of thermal damage. Unlike standard auto turrets, the Flame Turret provides exceptional area denial against clustered groups. |
| Auto Turret | Common | Standard automated sentry that targets and fires at nearby zombies. Provides passive damage support. |
Strengths
- Steel Barricades are 5x more durable than wooden alternatives
- Flame Turret provides persistent AoE damage
- Excellent for choke point control
- Synergizes perfectly with Medic's repair capabilities
Weaknesses
- Expensive to unlock after Marksman
- Static playstyle required - can't reposition easily
- Flame Turret can be overwhelmed by sheer numbers
- No healing or self-repair capabilities
Team Role
In a coordinated team, the Engineer is "The Anchor" - the foundation of your defensive line. Position at chokepoints with Steel Barricades and Flame Turrets to create an impenetrable wall. The Medic should position behind you to repair your structures as they take damage.
Optimal Strategies
- Deploy at chokepoints - Steel Barricades shine where zombies must funnel
- Layer defenses - Place Auto Turret behind Flame Turret for backup
- Coordinate with Medic - Communication ensures structures stay repaired
- Position Flame Turret wisely - Face it toward zombie spawn points
Synergy with Other Classes
The Engineer pairs exceptionally well with the Medic class. The Medic's Mending Towers can repair the Engineer's Steel Barricades indefinitely, creating a nearly permanent defensive line. This combination is the foundation of any organized team's late-game survival strategy.
